Lactation Rooms

Lactation rooms are temporary private spaces available for nursing mothers. Lactation space can be reserved as needed by contacting benefits@swarthmore.edu. 

In compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the College supports staff members who are breastfeeding, and in need of private break time during the workday for this purpose. Questions or issues regarding the use of the Lactation Room should be directed to benefits@swarthmore.edu. Supervisors are required to permit staff to take paid breaks as needed. Supervisors with questions about this policy should contact Human Resources.
