Philly Field Trip to Science History Institute

A lively group of students and a faculty member from the Chemistry and Biochemistry headed by train into Philadelphia on a blustery Saturday in February. The destination was the Science History Institute whose mission is to share " the stories of innovators and of discoveries that shape our lives with a focus on preserving and interpreting the history of chemistry, chemical engineering, and the life sciences." In addition to exploring the displays we attended a Science and Activism tour that highlighted several exhibits that touched on the impacts that scientists in partnership with community members have made on environmental justice and public health.
