Apply to be a GA!

Details for the 2026-2027 Program

Using JobX

Additionally, the application requires each candidate to complete and submit the "GA Application Short Answer Questions", which should be submitted as a PDF document that contains a collection of short-answer questions pertaining to the position. The required questions are listed below. Once candidates complete these supplemental questions, they will "attach" it to their formal application in JobX. Please note that there are two versions of the supplemental questions; one for NEW candidates, and one for RETURNING candidates.

Eligibility

Residential Peer Leaders live 'in-residence' and serve as role models and advisors to their residential communities. It is important that Residential Peer Leaders are supported by their supervisors in their work, and that employment as a Residential Peer Leader positively supports a student's overall success and well-being while at Swarthmore.

  • All student employees are required to complete new hire paperwork and an in-person I-9 eligibility verification at the Student Employment Office before beginning work or training.  Please reach out to the Student Employment Office or the International Student Center with questions regarding student employment eligibility, the onboarding process or Form I-9 Acceptable Documents.
  • Candidates must have a class standing of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior for the next academic year, and must be full-time enrolled students at the time of employment.
  • Candidates must be willing to serve for the entire academic year; first year candidates who are planning to study abroad or take a leave from the college are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must be in and remain in good standing throughout their employment. A student is not in good standing when the student has been found responsible for a student conduct policy violation and as a result is serving a sanction of probation, suspension, or expulsion. In addition, students are not in good standing if they are on academic probation. Please consult with the Student Handbook for more information about policies related to academics and student conduct.
