WOLA Internship
Thanks to the support of the Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility, the Latin American and Latino Studies Program at Swarthmore College has partnered with The Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) to offer a summer internship opportunity. WOLA is the leading non-governmental organization in Washington, DC devoted to research and advocacy surrounding human rights in Latin America.
Eligibility Requirements
- Interest in Latin America and U.S.-Latin American relations
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish at an advanced level (above SPAN 008)
- Recipient of a Lang Center’s Social Impact Summer Scholarship
Students interested in the WOLA summer internship opportunity should contact Sam Handlin, Associate Professor of Political Science, at shandli1@swarthmore.edu. Applications typically open in mid-January/early February. In addition to applying for a Lang Center Social Impact Summer Scholarship, applicants will need to submit a 2-page writing sample in Spanish describing how they are prepared to work at WOLA.
