Students make presentations at American Chemical Society Meeting

Laura Wang '10 was one of 20 students to participate in the American Chemical Society's 2009 Undergraduate Physical Chemistry Symposium, along with Lisa Schumacher '10.
She presented a poster of her summer research on the conformational changes associated with pH activation of the M2 proton channel of the influenza virus. Swarthmore College's Howard Hughes Medical Institute grant and a Howard Lab NIH grant provided funding for the trip.
Tom Stephenson, Swarthmore Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, helped coordinate this year's Undergraduate Physical Chemistry Symposium at the ACS meeting.
