Kyra Roepke '24 wins Oak & Ivy Award
Kyra Roepke '24 was awarded the prestigious Oak and Ivy Award at Swarthmore's graduation on May 26, 2024. The award is given for "the student in the graduating class who is outstanding in scholarship, contributions to community, and leadership."
Kyra was a double major in both Linguistics and Biochemistry. She completed the Honors Program in her Biochemistry major and earned Highest Honors. Her Biochemistry research thesis was titled "Thinking Outside the Membrane: Investigating the Structure of the Influenza A M2 Ectodomain" which she completed while working in the lab of Professor Kathleen Howard.
Next year, Kyra will be joining the graduate program in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge in the UK.
