Chem Major Brett McLarney ’13 Wins NSF Graduate Fellowship
Chemistry major Brett McLarney ’13 has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Fellowship. Brett is currently in the Ph.D. program in Chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he recently successfully completed his candidacy exam. His thesis research involves both experimental and computational work concerned with the direct C-H functionalization of heterocycles using acceptor-acceptor diazo compounds. His thesis will be supervised jointly by Professor Stefan France at Georgia Tech and by Professor Jamal Musaev at Emory University, under the auspices of the Center for C-H Functionalization.
