Chem Alum Wins NASA Earth and Space Science Fellowship

Chem Alum, Mary Alice Upshur '12 , won a NASA Earth and Space Science Fellowship. Her proposal is titled "Synthesis and Analysis of Putative Secondary Organic Aerosol Particle Constituents" and her advisor is Franz Geiger. She won a teaching award for her work as an Organic Chemistry Teaching Assistant during her first year as a graduate student in the Chemistry Department at Northwestern University where she is a joint student between the Thomson and the Geiger research groups. She is also the recipient of an NSF Graduate Fellowship. Congratulations!
