The Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society presents a Scholastic Achievement Award each year to the top-ranking senior majoring in chemistry or chemical engineering in each of the colleges and universities in this area which has an ACS approved department or an ACS Student Affiliate Chapter.

Alice was designated by the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry to receive this award and was invited to attend the April 20th lecture and dinner together with other award winners from various colleges, which was held at the McCall Meeting and Conference Center in Upper Darby.

On May 1st, Alice was presented with an award and gift from the Chemistry department by her advisor, Professor Kathleen Howard, at ChemFest, the senior awards presentation and celebration followed by the senior picnic.
