Juliana Eades ’75
Juliana Eades ’75 was recently awarded the 2012 Ned Gramlich Award for Responsible Finance by Opportunity Finance Network, a leading national network of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). Eades is president and founding executive director of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, which aims to make responsible loans to economically disadvantaged people and communities, allowing them greater opportunities for financial success and security.
Based in Concord, N.H., the group provides financial, educational, and technical support for low- and moderate-income people to buy, construct, or expand small businesses. Three years ago, the organization won the NEXT Award for Opportunity Finance, the highest honor in the CDFI industry.
Eades earned an MBA from the University of New Hampshire in 1984. She was awarded an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Franklin Pierce College in 1994, and in 2001, received the Horace Mann Spirit of Service Citizen’s Award from Antioch University. She founded The Community Loan Fund in 1983.
