Evan Wittenberg ’91 was recently named vice president of people at Box, a secure content collaboration
platform. Before becoming a member of Box’s executive team, Wittenberg served as chief talent officer at Hewlett-Packard (HP). Wittenberg graduated with distinction in psychology and English literature before receiving a master’s of business administration with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Wittenberg’s work within the realm of technology extends to founding and leading Google’s Global Leadership Development Program. Prior to Google, he served as the director of the Wharton Graduate Leadership Program where he was responsible for all leadership development activities for the school’s 1,600 MBA students.
After graduating from Swarthmore, Wittenberg was an NYC Urban Fellow, then spent several years in the entertainment field in New York City (including at Saturday Night Live and Late Show with David Letterman), followed by communications consulting. Before starting at Wharton, Wittenberg worked on the merger of New York Hospital–Cornell Medical Center and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center resulting in the nation’s largest hospital. He created the leadership development program for the two hospitals’ executives.
