Antoinette Sayeh '79

Antoinette Monsio Sayeh '79 is a retired Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Previously, she served as Director of the African Department, helping the IMF to enhance its relationship with sub-Saharan African member countries. She was also the Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Development until 2020. As Minister of Finance in post-conflict Liberia, a position she held from 2006 until 2008, Sayeh led the country through clearance of its long-standing external debt arrears and significantly strengthened its public finances. Before becoming Minister of Finance in Liberia, she worked in a variety of economist, managerial, and advisory roles at the World Bank.
