Antoinette Sayeh

Antoinette Monsio Sayeh '79 was the  Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Development until 2020 and previously served as director, Deputy Managing Director, and economist of the African Department of the International Monetary Fund, enhancing its relationship with sub-Saharan African member countries. As Minister of Finance in post-conflict Liberia, a position she held from 2006 until 2008, Sayeh led the country through clearance of its long-standing external debt arrears and significantly strengthened its public finances. Before becoming Minister of Finance in Liberia, she worked in a variety of economist, managerial, and advisory roles at the World Bank.
