Academic Support
Welcome to Math & Stat Academic Support!
The Fall 2024 schedule of Math/Stat clinics is posted. There will be no clinics on Wednesday 11/27 or Thursday 11/28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. All clinics will resume on Sunday 12/1 and continue through Tuesday December 10. Starting on Wednesday December 11, only a limited selection of exam review clinics will be offered.
There are four main types of clinics:
- General Math/stat clinics are open to all students enrolled in a math or stat class. These are drop-in sessions, no appointment necessary.
- Course-specific clinics are available for students enrolled in a particular course or courses (Math 027/028, Math 033/034, Math 039). These are drop-in sessions, no appointment necessary.
- Pirate sessions are also for students enrolled in a particular course (Math 015 or Math 025), and the pirates also attend class to support students in-class. These are drop-in sessions, no appointment necessary.
- One-on-one clinics are an opportunity to meet independently with a clinician. These are intended as a space to seek focused assistance with a particular question or topic, not just to casually work on homework.
- Appointments may be scheduled at most one week in advance and a minimum of 3 hours in advance.
- Before you book an appointment, check the clinic schedule to make sure the clinician that night can support the math or stat course in which you are enrolled. (None of our clinicians are capable of supporting every math/stat course).
- Appointments are 25 minutes long. Each individual may request at most one appointment per math or stat course per week. (i.e., If you are enrolled in two courses, you may book two appointments per week.)
- Although appointments are made by one individual, small study groups are welcome (no more than 4 students please).
- Appointments are usually held in SC 142. However, you may request a zoom appointment when booking if you are not able to attend in person. In this case, the clinician will email you a zoom link.
- There are no drop-in appointments. If no appointments are scheduled at a given time, the clinician will help out at the Math or Stat clinic instead.
- If your plans change, please cancel your appointment through google calendar so that other students may have the opportunity to sign up.
