Getting to UPenn
The SEPTA Media/Elwyn train provides direct service between the Swarthmore and University of Pennsylvania campuses.
From Swarthmore station, take the train to the University City stop, located at the intersection of South St. & Convention Ave. on the UPenn campus.
Swarthmore students may take undergraduate courses at UPenn. More information is available from the Registrar's Office. Students who do so may receive reimbursement for their train fare to and from Philadelphia for their course meetings. Reimbursement is not provided for trips related to library usage or practices. Students must submit a completed Student Travel Reimbursement Form [pdf] along with receipts for the expenses to be reimbursed to Felicite Gibson.
Deadlines for submitting reimbursement forms and receipts are:
- Fall semester: Friday before the start of Fall Break and Friday before the start of Winter Break
- Spring semester: Friday before the start of Spring Break and the last Friday of exam week.
Note: Swarthmore students (sophomore, junior and senior only) who will be taking a class at The University of Pennsylvania must review UPENN's Quaker Consortium Student Guide [pdf]. Swarthmore students are not permitted to use the following Penn Resources: Careers Services, Student Employment, Student Financial Services, and Student Health Service.
