David Arthur ’89
David Arthur ’89 was named the PPL Corp.’s new federal government relations vice president. Arthur, who was senior director of federal government relations for PPL, joined the company in 2009. During his 20-plus–year career in Washington D.C., he has also been a director of federal legislative affairs for the Calpine Corp. and a federal lobbyist. Before his career in government relations, Arthur worked on Capitol Hill and at the Environmental Protection Agency.
An environmental studies major at Swarthmore, Arthur holds a second bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University. He is a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy and the Washington Government Relations Group, an organization dedicated to the enrichment of African-American government relations professionals.
