General FAQs

How do I register for Alumni Weekend?

You can register for Alumni Weekend online or by calling 610-328-7332 for assistance. Children 4 years old and younger are free, and you do not need to register them for Alumni Weekend. Dependents ages 5 to 20 receive discounted pricing and should be registered for all meals and activities. Learn more about packaging and pricing options

Are the buildings on campus air conditioned?

Most residence halls are not air-conditioned, although academic buildings and the Dining and Community Commons are.

Will the College provide childcare during Alumni Weekend?

Swarthmore does not provide childcare during Alumni Weekend. The Philadelphia Nanny Network is a local, bonded agency that operates contractual childcare services. Alumni and families looking for childcare should contact Philadelphia Nanny Network directly at least four weeks in advance for details and scheduling. This agency is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by Swarthmore College.

Are there gender inclusive bathrooms on campus?

Gender inclusive bathrooms are bathrooms that people of any gender or gender identity may use. Swarthmore is working to make sure that everybody has a choice in each building. View a current list of gender inclusive bathrooms. All restrooms in the Dining Center are gender inclusive and all residence halls also have gender inclusive bathrooms.

What if I need help getting around campus?

Golf carts will be on call to provide transportation to alumni needing assis­tance. The College is unable to provide wheelchairs, but information for local medical equipment rentals is available on the Accessibility page.

Registration FAQs

When does registration open?

Registration is now open! You can register online for Alumni Weekend through May 29. Walk-on registration will be available throughout the weekend, though some meals and activities may sell out. On-campus housing is not available for walk-on registrants.

How much does it cost to register?

With a variety of registration options, you can create a personalized Alumni Weekend experience that works for you. When registering for your reunion, you will have the option to choose from a variety of package options or you may select à la carte pricing. Do I need to register my children?

What's the resource fee?

Registration does not cover the full cost of Alumni Weekend. The resource fee helps cover the additional expenses of Alumni Weekend, including support from Public Safety, Environmental Services, and student workers.

Housing FAQs

On-campus housing is sold out. We encourage you to explore off-campus accommodations at nearby hotels. While the list of accommodations is organized by type and distance from Swarthmore, the College does not endorse any particular facility. For exact prices and availability, please call the hotels directly.

Are the dorms air conditioned?

Most dorms are not air-conditioned, although classroom buildings and the Dining and Community Commons are.

What's included with on-campus housing?

On-campus housing is limited to basic dorm rooms, which have only the bare essentials: two sheets, one pillow and pillowcase, one blanket and two towels. Bathrooms are communal, and rooms with private baths are not avail­able. Please note that most dorms do not have air conditioning.
