Biographical Statement

Willie Udell is an interdisciplinary artist living in West Philadelphia, PA. Working primarily in sculpture and video, he received his MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2016 and his BA in Fine Arts and Environmental Studies from Kenyon College in 2013.  Willie has most recently exhibited work in Tiger Strikes Asteroids Gallery in Philadelphia, PA and is the recipient of multiple grants, awards, and residencies including a Toby Devan Lewis fellowship, a Joan Mitchell fellowship, a Sachs Program for Arts Innovation grant, and the G. Holmes Perkins Teaching award. He currently holds the positions of Sculpture and Special Projects Manager as well as Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Weitzman School of Design.
