- Daniel Laurison '00, Associate Professor of Sociology
- Daniel Laurison is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Swarthmore College and a 2021-2023 Carnegie Fellow. His research interests include class inequality and social mobility, political participation and campaigns, and racial and class inequality in politics. Daniel has written three books: Producing Politics: Inside the Exclusive Campaign World Where the Privileged Few Shape Politics for All of Us (2022, Beacon Press), The Class Ceiling: Why it Pays to Be Privileged (2019, Policy Press, co-authored with Sam Friedman), and Social Class in the 21st Century (2015, co-authored with Mike Savage & seven other people). Before starting at Swarthmore, Daniel held a post-doctoral fellowship in the Sociology Department at the London School of Economics, and received his PhD in Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley,
- Kelly Diaz, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
- Kelly Diaz is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility working with Professor Daniel Laurison to study political participation across Pennsylvania. She holds a Ph.D. from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's in International Affairs from The Pennsylvania State University. Kelly is passionate about social justice storytelling and loves working with students as a teacher and research mentor. She lives in Philly with her dog Tillie!
