Our lab attended Swarthmore Sigma Xi poster session on October 26-27, 2012, and presented three posters focused on our summer research.
Our lab presented posters at the Haverford Undergraduate Research Symposium on September 22, 2012. Steven and Michelle gave an oral presentation regarding their research on the crystal structure of the NMM-Tel22 complex and the synthesis of novel amide porphyrin derivatives to students and faculty at the event.

Alessandro d'Urso (Ale) of the University of Catania visited the Yatsunyk lab on September 15, 2012 and presented his research on inducing chirality in porphyrin-DNA complexes. Lab members also gave short presentations and discussed exciting collaborations with Ale's lab.
Our lab attended the 244th American Chemical Society (ACS) National Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, on August 19 - 23, 2012. Vienna and Navin presented a poster titled "Investigation of the Interaction between DNA and Stabilizing Metallic Compounds" and Steven, Michelle, and Jack presented "Structural aspects of the interaction between human telomeric G-quadruplexes and N-methyl-mesoporphyrin IX."
Farewell to Jack, who just graduated with high honors. He is on his way to Harvard, where he will start as a PhD student in the department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. Good luck!

Congratulations to Navin who was one of the winners of Sigma Xi Student Research Day Poster Competition at the Thomas Jefferson University in Spring 2012. Navin presented poster titled "Investigating the Interactions between DNA and a Platinum Metalloporphyrin".
Our lab welcomes Vienna, Navin and Cole who joined the lab this spring.

Jack gave an oral presentation at the Undergradutae Summer Research Symposium held at Haverford College. Jack and three other students were selected out of 95 students from Haverford, Bryn Mawr, Ursinus and Swarthmore to present at this event. In addition to oral presentations all students presented posters on their summer research.
