SwatTalks
SwatTalks is an Alumni Council program that brings the talent and expertise of Swarthmore alumni, faculty, and staff to the greater College community through free, virtual seminars. Each SwatTalk lasts one hour and is available through Zoom. SwatTalk sessions will be recorded as permitted by the presenters.

The 2024 presidential election is shaping up to be one of the most consequential and unprecedented in American history. On November 18 at 8p.m. ET, we invite you to join us for a special SwatTalk focused on what transpired during the election, the candidates' campaigns, and what's likely to happen next.
Our panel of distinguished Swarthmore alumni will cover their unique insights from sociology, political analysis, and frontline campaign coverage.
Arlie Hochschild ’62, an emeritus professor of sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, is the author, most recently, of Stolen Pride: Loss, Shame, and the Rise of the Right.
Daniel Laurison ’99, an associate professor of sociology at Swarthmore, is the author of Producing Politics: Inside the Exclusive Campaign World Where the Privileged Few Shape Politics for All of Us.
Eva McKend ’11, a national politics correspondent for CNN, covered the Harris for President campaign.
