I currently work at Moody's Analytics as an Associate Economist on the model maintenance team. One of our primary services is to provide well informed economic analysis to our clients. This analysis is packaged in various forms such as statistically modeled forecasts, written reports and blog posts on up-to-date data releases. In terms of my day to day workflow, one of my main tasks is to maintain the functioning and integrity of the various stochastic equations and identities that make up our global economic model. These equations are then used to forecast a number of economic concepts. The wide array of courses, on offer from the Swarthmore math department, have served me well. From foundational classes to statistical methods, differential equations and more... all instrumental in the workplace! I secured this job through a TriCo career fair hosted by career services. I look fondly on my academic years at Swarthmore. I thank Professor Ralph Gomez, Professor Cheryl Grood, Professor Deb Bergstrand, Professor Victor Barranca, Professor Joshua Goldwyn, Professor Linda Chen, Professor Steve Wang, Professor Lu Chen and Professor Noah Giansiracusa for all of their memorable and defining teaching that helped me along the way. Mathematics is truly a universal language and can open the doors to a variety of career paths!
