We are consultants for banks. We tell banks how much money they are likely to lose on their loans. My group builds statistical/econometric models that forecast these loan losses. So we are statisticians that work with economic and financial data. Everyone uses Stats or R in our group and everyone has a stat/math/Econ background. I got this job through a TriCo career fair at Haverford, there are a bunch of Swarthmore alum at Moody’s Analytics and since we all do great work here we will likely be hiring more Swarthmore students.
