American Sign Language
The Swarthmore Curriculum Committee has approved LING 011 (American Sign Language I), LING 012 (American Sign Language II), and LING 015 (American Sign Language III) to satisfy the foreign language requirement. Like other language courses, students must complete the two-semester sequence or the 2nd semester of the two-semester sequence to satisfy the requirement.
Similar to other languages, students wishing to transfer in ASL credit from other institutions must seek the approval of the LING department.
Like other language courses, ASL does not count towards the elective requirements for a Linguistics major/minor.
