Investment Office Team Members
Frank Grunseich
Frank Grunseich joined Swarthmore College in September 2015 and was appointed to the role of chief investment officer in January 2024. In this role, he has primary oversight of the College’s $2.7 billion endowment and the six-member Investment Office. Previously, he was at the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), where he spent nine years conducting manager due diligence and asset class research, and Prudential Financial, where he served in a variety of investment and actuarial roles. Frank earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bucknell University and a master’s degree in financial engineering from Temple University. He is a CFA charterholder.
Tyler Ewell
Tyler Ewell joined Swarthmore College as an investment officer in August 2019 and was promoted to director of investments in July 2023. He previously spent four years as a generalist allocating capital for a family office in Lexington, Ky. He started his career at Cambridge Associates supporting consultants’ recommendations through performance and attribution analysis. Prior to the family office, Tyler served as an associate portfolio manager of leveraged and inverse ETFs at ProShare Advisors in Bethesda, Md. He earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and international relations at the College of William and Mary and is a CFA Charterholder.
Christina Han
Christina Han joined Swarthmore College in December 2023 as director of investments. She previously spent over 20 years at Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners focusing on manager due diligence and investment strategy research. Christina started her career in Shanghai, China, as a CPA at Arthur Andersen and then worked at ING Barings China as deputy to chief credit risk officer. Christina earned a bachelor’s degree in international journalism at Shanghai International Studies University and an MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in finance. She is a CFA Charterholder.
