Donor Recognition Societies

The collective impact of giving benefits every student, every day. Members of our donor recognition societies represent the most engaged and generous supporters of the Swarthmore community. Their contributions are essential for providing the resources necessary for a transformative Swarthmore education, from need-blind, loan-free financial aid and student-faculty research opportunities to innovative sustainability initiatives and vibrant student life programs. Donor support empowers every student with the critical thinking skills, compassion, and creativity to create a brighter, more just future.

Recognizing our most loyal donors.
The Asterisk Society recognizes dedicated alumni who support Swarthmore students by making gifts of any size, year after year. Honoring a tradition of leadership giving.
The 1864 Society celebrates the year of Swarthmore’s founding and recognizes those who make leadership gifts of $1,864 or more. Year after year, 1864 Society members play a vital role in Swarthmore’s ability to provide a transformational educational experience for the next generation of independent thinkers, innovators, and leaders.

Rose Garden Associates

Rose Garden Associates

Fostering young alumni leadership giving.
Rose Garden Associates are young alumni members of The 1864 Society. Young alumni are invited to join with a gift of $100 (1–4 years since graduation), $500 (5–9 years since graduation), or $1,000 (10–14 years since graduation). This allows young alumni to gradually increase their giving, empowering them to become philanthropic leaders at a pace informed by the young alumni experience.
