Assistant Professor of English Literature Eric Song shows how Paradise Lost advances John Milton's political and religious thought through its conjugal narrative; this epic experiment would, in turn, help to shape how future generations have come to think of the basic meaning of marriage and of love.

In addition to the question posed in his title, Lefkowitz explored ways in which ideas about fable writing and archiving surface in the ancient biographical novel, The Life of Aesop. Lefkowitz first gave this talk on campus in May.
