The Swarthmore College Black Cultural Center and the William J. Cooper Foundation are honored to conclude Swarthmore’s MLK Week commemorations with an evening with Dr. Bernice A. King. Dr. King will speak about her social justice efforts, the King philosophy of nonviolence and love-centered activism and, of course, the multi-dimensional work and legacies of her parents – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Ms. Coretta Scott King. Our aim is to remain mindful that the Kings (Martin, Coretta, and their children) are not one-dimensional historical figures, and that their ideological and political stances are relevant and transformative in current times
