Commencement 2020
Swarthmore College broadcast a virtual Commencement ceremony and celebrated the Class of 2020 on Sunday, May 24, 2020.
Of the 418 graduates, 394 received the Bachelor of Arts degree and 24 the Bachelor of Science in engineering degree. Thirteen had double degrees. Highest honors were awarded to eight graduates, 64 received high honors, and eight received honors.
Five seniors — Emma Morgan-Bennett, Terell Dale, Jack Rubien, Shira Samuels-Shragg, and Daniel Wallick — received special awards.
The ceremony included a performance of the Alma Mater by the Swarthmore College Chorus and Garnet Singers, a Baccalaureate address by Professor Emerita of Biology Sara Hiebert Burch '79, as well as remarks by Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, and a senior highlight video.
