Rick Becker ’76—Lauded Toxicologist Rick Becker ’76, a senior toxicologist at the American Chemistry Council (ACC), received the 2015 Arnold J. Lehman Award at the Society of Toxicology’s (SOT) annual meeting in March. The prestigious award recognizes Becker’s work to advance the science of risk assessment—the procedures and regulations used to evaluate chemical products’ potential risks to humans and the environment. SOT, the leading global professional society of toxicologists, comprises approximately 7,700 members from 61 different countries. A 25-year contributor to SOT, Becker leads ACC’s science and research division, directing an innovative research program that advances computational and molecular methods for risk assessment.
