Philip Cavalier ’88—Distinguished Academic Philip Cavalier ’88 became the vice president for academic services and dean of the faculty at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. Previously, Cavalier was provost and dean of the college at Eureka College in Eureka, Ill., where he oversaw academic affairs, student programs and services, athletics, library, learning center, and the registrar/records office. He received a master’s in English from Northeastern University in Boston and a Ph.D. in English from the University at Buffalo in New York.
