Gustavo Schwed ’84—Acclaimed Educator Gustavo Schwed ’84, a clinical professor of finance at the New York University Stern School of Business, was elected 2015 Professor of the Year by the school’s graduating MBA class. Schwed joined the school’s finance department as an adjunct professor in 2013 after a career in private equity and assumed full-time professorship in January. According to the students, Schwed is “an industry leader … His course on private equity finance is challenging and thoughtful. … One of the most difficult MBA classes. … He challenges his students so they leave with solid, practical, in-depth knowledge.” A member of the College Board or Managers, Schwed serves on the nominations and governance, finance, and investment committees.
