About Be Well

Be well logo with eight flower petals symbolizing different dimensions of wellbeing

Since its formal launch in 2019, the Be Well model has evolved from a six-dimension concept to an eight-dimension framework, significantly broadening its reach from its early adopters to the entire campus. At its core lies a simple yet powerful idea: true well-being extends far beyond academic or intellectual achievement. It recognizes that well-being encompasses every facet of our lives—emotional health, physical vitality, a sense of belonging, and the capacity for personal growth.

Embracing the Be Well model empowers our campus community to thrive holistically. Through its philosophy, practical implementation, and recognizable logo, Be Well creates a visual language that transcends words, allowing everyone in our community to easily identify and engage with the principles of well-being. Whether it's a poster in Parrish, a sticker on a laptop, or a social media post, the Be Well logo serves as a constant reminder of our collective commitment to happiness and health.

Be Well is more than just a symbol, however, it is a call to action. It provides a road map for building a stronger, more vibrant community where every individual is supported in reaching their full potential. Be Well is a testament to our shared belief that Swarthmore is dedicated to developing the whole person, making well-being not just a goal, but a way of life.
