Meeting Minutes for March 16, 2011
Attendance:
Tami Gura, Mary Marissen, John Dukes, Melanie Young, Carolyn Saufley, Pat Hearty, Cassy Burnett, Lynn Grady, Linda Hunt
Ex-Officio Members:
Melanie Young, Sharmaine Lamar
Mary Marissen convened the meeting at 9:35 a.m. in the Scheuer Room.
SAC Lunch
The first SAC Lunch on Financial Aid was well attended and informative. Thanks to Laura Talbot, who, in addition to her lunchtime talk, is willing to meet with staff individually to discuss financial aid.
If any staff members have a topic of interest to suggest for a future SAC Lunch, please inform your SAC representatives.
All-Staff Meeting
SAC finalized plans for the spring semester meeting on Wednesday, March 23. SAC representatives are asked to meet in the Lang Music Lobby at 9:45 in order to help distribute materials that will be used in the meeting.
Staff Handbook
The Handbook is updated annually around this time. This year, in addition to updates which clarify language or introduce minor changes to existing policies, there will be two new policies. Human Resources will communicate the information.
Town Center West
SAC discussed recent activities of the student group SLAP and the impact (if any) on current staff.
Elections Needed
Retiring representatives should communicate with their circles in order to find a replacement, before the May meeting if possible. The following SAC Circles will have a retiring representative:
- Lang (for Tami Gura)
- Magnolia (for Terri McGrath)
- Rose Garden (for Betsy Durning)
- Scott (for Mary Marissen)
- South (for Carolyn Vance)
- Tarble (for Cathy Pescatore)
- Whittier (for Pat Hearty)
- Sharples and Magill currently have one representative each. Each Circle could use an additional representative.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:35.
Next meeting will be April 20, 2011.
