Originally from Voronezh, Russia, Katie completed her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Education at Bowdoin College where she focused her research primarily on international student experience and campus cultures. While at Bowdoin, Katie also worked as an event manager with Student Activities and Athletics, a Teaching Assistant for Russian, and as a Resident Assistant. Upon graduation, Katie joined the Residence Life team at Grinnell College, which allowed her to continue pursuing her passion for promoting student development and leadership. Katie completed her Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Higher Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, while working part-time as an Admissions graduate assistant. In her spare time, Katie enjoys playing video games, catching up on the newest fantasy TV shows, and trying to steal back her last hair tie from her cat, Glommer.

Katie is excited to connect with students and colleagues, grow as a Student Affairs professional, and contribute to the magic that makes Swarthmore the amazing place it is.
