Firat Kimya
Firat Kimya is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Swarthmore College, specializing in comparative political institutions with a regional emphasis on the Middle East and North Africa. His research primarily revolves around the relationship between party institutionalization and democratic consolidation, while also encompassing the study of political parties and the politics of repression.
Firat obtained his PhD in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia, complementing his academic background with an MA from Koç University and a BA from Boğaziçi University.
