Chinelo Okparanta specializes in contemporary fiction. She teaches craft courses on the short story and the novel, including Sci-Fi/Fantasy workshops, “Life as Inspiration” workshops, and seminars on writing culture in fiction. Her short stories and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Tin House, The Kenyon Review, AGNI, and other venues. She is the author of the short story collection Happiness, Like Water (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2013) and the novel Under the Udala Trees (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2015). Her most recent novel, Harry Sylvester Bird, is forthcoming from HarperCollins/Mariner Books USA in 2022.
