An audition is no longer than 5 minutes.
- Are the auditions recorded?
Auditions are not recorded.
- Is transportation to rehearsals available?
Yes, roundtrip transportation is provided to all CCC activities. Students can be picked up from school or their home.
- Can I be in the room during my child's audition?
Yes.
- When will my child find out if they are invited to join the CCC?
Students who are selected to join the CCC will be notified within a week of auditions.
- How do I schedule an audition?
Auditions can be scheduled online.
- When are performances held?
Our children perform at 7-12 concerts each year at Swarthmore College during the spring, summer and winter as well at local organizations including retirement communities and churches.

Children in grades 2-11 who live or attend school in Chester are eligible to audition.
Our more than 100 children are joyful, accomplished, exuberant, and playful! They love to sing all different kinds of music - from Handel’s Messiah to The Beatles’ “Let It Be.”
In addition to singing, we also practice math before every rehearsal. Each child receives individualized instruction from both a full-time math teacher and Swarthmore College student math coaches.
The fun keeps going at our five-week, full-day summer program that features music, math, reading, science and swimming.

Auditions
The audition process is informal. Our Executive and Artistic Director, John Alston and Assistant Music Director Sean Tripline will explain the program and engage in activities to gauge a child’s musical ability. Children do not need to prepare any music but are welcome to perform a favorite song if they choose. No prior musical training is required. An audition is approximately five minutes.

Program Schedule
Our program is year-round. Divided by age groups, our children rehearse twice per week - once Monday-Thursday and as a full choir on Saturdays. Rehearsals include 60 - 90 minutes of math instruction followed by 60 - 90 minutes of music instruction.
Beginning in June, our children participate in our full-day summer program.
Rehearsals and the summer program are held at Swarthmore College. Roundtrip transportation is provided.
