After celebrating its golden anniversary on campus, the House is still a cornerstone of Swarthmore’s Black community.
The Black Cultural Center, also known as “the House,” is home to Swarthmore’s storied and accomplished Black community. The BCC strives to critically engage students whose educational, intellectual, and personal interests include issues of race, ethnicity, and varied social, cultural, and political histories of Africans across the diaspora.
