Dean Bond Rose Garden

Campus Tour - Dean Bond Rose Garden Overview

This organically maintained garden is one of 16 on campus that, together with several featured collections, serve as a living museum for campus residents and visitors alike.

Each year, graduating seniors pin roses from this garden to their gowns before processing into the amphitheater for Commencement. The idyllic 425-acre arboretum that makes up the Swarthmore College campus is often named one of the most beautiful in the country. Located just 11 miles from Philadelphia, the campus’s rolling hills, flowering trees, and hiking trails offer a nature escape on the edge of a thriving metropolis.
