A Message from the President

President Valerie Smith shared the following message with the community on August 29, 2017:

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff, 

Our thoughts are with all who are experiencing the ongoing devastation of Hurricane (now Tropical Storm) Harvey. The College is committed to extending compassionate support to those whose lives have been affected by the storm.

We have reached out to current students, families, and alumni in the Houston area, and we are accommodating the advising schedules of first-years with disrupted travel schedules. In addition, I have reached out to the presidents of colleges and universities in the region to see if we might be able to assist them.  

If you are so moved, I encourage you to contribute to organizations participating in hurricane relief efforts, including the American Red Cross, GlobalGiving, the SPCA of Texas, the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, or one of your choosing.

By uniting with those who have suffered Harvey's impact, we can help them begin the recovery process.
