RadioTimes (WHYY): Juno’s rendezvous with Jupiter

Professor of Astronomy Eric Jensen recently discussed the successful insertion of the NASA spacecraft Juno into Jupiter's orbit on WHYY's RadioTimes. 

Jensen is eager to examine Juno's discoveries, which may unlock many mysteries of the universe. "It will be great to see what we can learn specifically about Jupiter, but also to see whether we can generalize some of that to help us learn a little bit about how planets form in general," he says.

Jensen researches planet formation and, more broadly, astrobiology, which is the origin and distribution of life in the cosmos. He was recently part of a worldwide network of astronomers who confirmed the existence of Kepler-1647b, the largest circumbinary planet ever found. He received his B.A. from Carleton College and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. At Swarthmore, he also serves as the director of the Aydelotte Foundation.
