Academic Technology and ITS maintain a number of standard systems such as Moodle to support teaching and learning. We also provide specialized solutions for faculty and classes. A few examples:
Academic Technology supports the use of technology in teaching, learning, and research. The staff (in ITS and the Language Resource Center) supports a huge range of resources and activities, including learning spaces, academic software, high-performance computing, web and mobile development, Moodle, the Language and Media Centers, and support for the creation and use of digital media. Moodle is our institution wide learning management system (LMS). All courses offered at Swarthmore College automatically receive a Moodle course shell. Please contact your Academic Technologist if you have problems setting up your course page.
Qualtrics is a full-featured online survey tool that can be used to create and distribute online surveys.
Zoom is Swarthmore's campus-wide web-conferencing tool.All Swarthmore faculty, staff, and students have a Basic Zoom Account for video web-conferencing. Contact your Academic Technologist to set up a Pro Zoom Account for unlimited meeting minutes.
Panopto is our cloud based video streaming and lecture capture system that makes it easy to stream, record, and share videos. It is fully integrated with Moodle.
GitHub Enterprise is a collaborative tool for managing, reviewing, and sharing code. At it's core, GitHub is a repository for files and projects that are being managed with Git, a command-line version control system.
