Watch: Japanese Lecturer Yoshiko Jo Reflects on Return to Boston Marathon
Fox29: Local Runners Head to the Boston Marathon
As she prepared to run in her 10th Boston Marathon, Japanese lecturer Yoshiko Jo shared her thoughts on this year's race with Philadelphia's Fox 29.
The 2014 Boston Marathon – the first since last year's fatal bombing – will be emotional for many runners, including Jo, whose 2013 finish nearly coincided with the detonation of the bombings.
"Pride," Jo states in the interview on why she wants to run this year's Marathon. "Tradition, but pride."
Jo is an active member of the Bryn Mawr Running Club, and has run in over 100 marathons. Jo joined the Swarthmore faculty in 2002.
