The Swarthmore men's swimming team claimed its second Centennial Conference title in three years.

The Swarthmore College athletic programs had strong showings at their respective conference championships, headlined by title winning performances from the men's basketball and men's swimming teams. Both squads captured their second Centennial Conference championships in three seasons and did so in a dominant fashion.

At Gettysburg College, the Garnet men's swimming team hoisted the conference trophy for the second time in program history after tallying 845.5 points, which was 215.5 more than the second-place finisher. Swarthmore now has its sights set on sending swimmers to the NCAA Championship in Greensboro, N.C. beginning on March 20.

The men's basketball team took care of business at home with double-digit victories over Washington College and Johns Hopkins. Swarthmore never trailed in either contest and will continue its postseason in the NCAA Division III Tournament, looking to improve on last season's appearance in the national quarterfinals. The Garnet will host Mitchell College on Friday, March 1, in the opening round. The winner of that contest will face the winner of MIT and Skidmore on Saturday from Tarble Pavilion.

Update: 3/4/19 The men's basketball team handily defeated #12 MIT by a 105-65 score to advance to the final 16 of the tournament. The Garnet will next play #5 Randolph-Macon on the campus of Amherst College on Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m. Watch the game live here.
