The Swarthmore College men's and women's swimming programs each won their fourth consecutive Centennial Conference championships over the weekend in contrasting fashions.

The women's team, ranked ninth in Division III, cruised to a title by totaling a championship record of 1,017 points to outscore runner-up Gettysburg College by 148. Swarthmore has set a new points record at every championship meet during the streak and is the first team in Centennial history to eclipse 1,000 points.

Quinn Weygandt ’26 was named the Most Outstanding Performer of the meet for the second consecutive season. Weygandt won five gold medals with individual titles in the 200 individual medley (IM), 400 IM, and 200 butterfly, and was also a member of the first place 400 and 800 free relay teams. The junior is the second swimmer in program history to repeat as the top individual honoree, following Supriya Davis ’15, who accomplished the feat in 2013.

Genine Collins ’27 also set a conference record in the 50 free with a time of 22.88, the first sub-23 second mark in Centennial history.

On the men's side, the Garnet edged out a win over Gettysburg with spectacular swims in the final two events; Swarthmore took all three podium spots in the 200 butterfly and then won the 400 free relay to finish with 928 points to Gettysburg's 892.

After being chosen the Most Outstanding Rookie in 2024, Danny Castle ’27 captured Most Outstanding Swimmer honors this season. The sophomore tallied six gold medals: individual victories in the 200 IM, 200 freestyle, and 100 freestyle, and relay wins in the 200 free, 400 free, and 200 medley.

He is the fourth consecutive Swarthmore swimmer to receive top honors after Andrew Karpenko ’24 claimed the distinction from 2022 to 2024.

Cami Wilson ’26 broke his own conference record in the 100 fly, posting top times in the preliminary and final sessions on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Both teams await Wednesday's announcement of selections to the NCAA Division III Championship meet, which will be held on March 19-22 in Greensboro, N.C. The women's program is looking to improve upon its ninth-place finish in 2024, the highest team placement at the national championships in program history.
