Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater Quinn Bauriedel '94 directs Welcome to Yuba City.

Pig Iron Theatre Company's latest production, Welcome to Yuba City, premieres this week at the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival. "We're calling it a variety show, but that's probably wrong," says director Quinn Bauriedel '94 in a recent Philadelphia Inquirer article. "It's composed of little clown numbers threaded through with songs and dances, held together in this one mythic, lost America."

Bauriedel is a founding member and co-artistic director, together with Dan Rothenberg '94 and Dito Van Reigersberg '94, of the Obie Award-winning Pig Iron Theatre Company. A graduate of the École Jacques Lecoq in Paris, he was awarded a Luce Fellowship in theater to Bali in 2000-2001 and was the first College alumnus hired to teach in the Department of Theater.

Longtime Live Arts and Fringe Festival volunteer Kim Comer '09 says she's "really excited" to see the new work. "I am such a huge fan," she says. "I'm also looking forward to the creative uses of the city and alternate presentation styles that abound in the festival."
