Says Calling in Sick Is Right Thing to Do

Professional ethicist Bruce Weinstein '82 recently appeared on the Today Show to discuss the ethical reasons for calling in sick.  "The most fundamental ethical principle of all is 'do no harm,' and when we bring a cold or flu to the office, especially the flu, we're likely to harm people," he said.  "It's also an issue of fairness because it's unfair to other people, our companies, and ourselves." The issue is the subject of his most recent "Ask the Ethics Guy" column in Business Week.
