Off-Campus Study Support

Swarthmore's libraries can support you while away from campus:

Access to digital materials

You can access digital books, articles, streaming video, JSTOR, and other library resources through Tripod. Sign in to the proxy server for Off Campus Access or use the VPN.

Request PDFs

If you can't find what you need in Tripod (or through your host institution's library), you can request PDFs of articles and book chapters through Borrowing Beyond Trico.

Print Books

We can’t ship books to you abroad, but you may be able to take a small number of library books with you. Before you leave, stop by one of the libraries and ask at the front desk or email Access & Lending at circ@swarthmore.edu.

Research Help

Swarthmore librarians and RIAs can help you find sources and build research skills. Connect with us through chat, Zoom, or email.

Language Learning

Do you need a refresher on a particular languages? Mango Languages offers useful tutorials for real-life situations and conversations.

We hope you’ll take some time to explore the libraries where you’re studying! Visiting the local libraries at your host institution can be a valuable part of your off-campus experience. Feel free to ask Swarthmore’s librarians for help finding your way.
