THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT QUIZ

The correct response to Question #5 is : TRUE

Most questions of this type would illegally require the applicant to reveal whether he or she has a disability. HOWEVER, if there is an obvious disability or a disability that the applicant has voluntarily revealed, you could then ask whether accommodation is necessary. You MAY NOT ask further questions about the disability itself.

If you ask an applicant whether he or she will need accommodation for an obvious disability and the applicant says no, you may not ask any further questions about accommodations. Finally, you may not ask about accommodations that are not job related. The need for assistance in going to the cafeteria or bathroom, or transportation to and from work are not job related, and such questions should not be asked.
