The Swarthmore College Department of Theater presents a virtual staged reading of HOLIDAY, an Honors Thesis in Playwriting by Theater major Amaechi Abuah '21.

After a lengthy stay abroad, a son returns home to attempt to fix the broken family he left behind. But when his step-brother threatens to reveal a dark secret from their past he has a bitter choice to make; whether to accept the reality -- or the fantasy. Set in contemporary Abuja, Nigeria, HOLIDAY offers an unflinching look at both a family's self-undoing and the legacy of global cultural colonialism in a Nigerian middle-class home.

This staged reading of HOLIDAY is made possible by the generous support of the Honors Program. The 75 minute show will be followed by a talk back with the creative team.
